Grey Mist Mere is Association-owned and access to this water is for Members Only
This water is a 7 acre lake nestled on the edge of urban Warrington, and has a reputation as one of the best long-standing specimen waters in the North West. Most anglers visit Grey Mist nowadays for the carp and tench fishing, although there are also roach and perch to be caught, plus pike and eels.
Grey Mist is popular with our members who target carp, with the lake record just over 30lbs. The original fish were stocked in the late 1970s, and have an average size around the high-doubles / low 20s. In the past couple of seasons, as the original stocks have died and thinned out, the club has boosted the stocks with carefully-selected fish from our trusted suppliers. There is an archive of the 110 new fish stocked since 2010 on the website gallery.
Grey Mist is also a prolific tench water, and some excellent specimens have been landed including fish over 11lbs. The average size of tench is approx 5lbs. There are also some very large eels present. There is a secure car park adjacent to the lake. NO floating baits allowed. NO Cans or bottles allowed.
